Wilfred Owen's walks - Pentland Hills, Harlaw Vistor Centre
Step back in time by retracing Wilfred Owen's footsteps. Guided walk following the war poet's route 100 years ago, with optional writing workshop.
This event is the first of two walks exploring routes in the Pentland Hills taken by Wilfred Owen and friends exactly 100 years previously. The walk will be led by the Chair of Wilfred Owen Edinburgh 1917-2017, Neil McLennan. There will be an optional writing workshop at the start and end of the walk, led by professional writer Helen Boden. Meet at Harlaw House Visitor Centre at 11am on Thursday 10th August.
The walk and workshop combined costs £8; if you would just like to attend the walk, it is £5. Booking is essential; please email email@example.com to book your place. Please note you need to have a good level of fitness, and should bring a packed lunch, waterproofs and sturdy footwear. The walk is up to eight miles long. The event may be cancelled in the case of adverse weather.
