Background This attractive little path is an unexpected and delightful woodland glade full of the sound of birds and the murmurings of the Water of Leith. Newly planted tree and fern planting along the north banking with history panels installed.
History and heritage The path is named after the colourful Rochheid family who once owned the property as part of their estate. It was originally given to the old Edinburgh Corporation free of charge by the governors of Fettes Trust to form an access from Bell Place to Arboretum Avenue to be permanently maintained as a garden or shrubbery ground.
