Canopy Communities: Help bring more trees to Edinburgh’s neighbourhoods
Imagine having fruit trees just around the corner, enjoying blossom along your street in spring, or picking an apple on your way home.
Trees bring many benefits to our everyday lives, from providing habitats for wildlife and improving local environments to making our neighbourhoods greener and more pleasant places to live.
Through the Canopy Communities project, the City of Edinburgh Council’s Parks and Openspace Development team is working with local communities to increase tree cover across Edinburgh and help more residents enjoy these benefits close to home.
We are keen to hear from residents in Granton, Muirhouse, The Calders, Gracemount and Broomhouse. Whether you have a suggestion for a location for new trees or would like to get involved in caring for trees in your neighbourhood, we would love to hear from you.
To find out more about the project or suggest a potential tree-planting location, please contact the Parks and Openspace Development team at thrivinggreenspaces@edinburgh.gov.uk.
Find out more about the project and the Council’s wider tree-planting ambitions through the Canopy Communities page.
