Exciting news for community groups focussed on food growing! The Grow Your Own grant scheme is offering funding of up to £5,000 for your food growing projects.

Whether your group has been around for a while or is just getting started, this could be your chance to get support for your food-growing projects and to create lively, accessible growing spaces!

We’re thrilled to introduce the Grow Your Own grant scheme — a fantastic programme aimed at helping community food-growing projects all across Edinburgh.

This initiative is offering grants of up to £5,000 to voluntary and community groups, such as community groups, organisations, ‘Friends of’ groups, clubs, etc.

Informal groups are also encouraged to apply: they can partner with a parent organisation, such as a Community Council.

The applications deadline is at 12 noon on 12 May 2025.

For more details about how to apply, check out the application process page on the Your Voice platform.

This funding can help pay for things such as:

  • Seeds, plants, and tools
  • Equipment for cooking in community gardens
  • Education and training
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Staff time related to setting up growing spaces
  • Construction work to make gardening areas accessible

Don’t miss out on this wonderful chance to make a positive change in your community!
