Why not explore Edinburgh’s natural green network in September? Parks and places such as rivers help wildlife move through cities by acting as wildlife ‘corridors’. Large sites like Holyrood Park are important for wildlife and have lots of hidden corners to discover. River corridors, such as the Water of Leith, offer miles of quiet paths to explore. If you are really lucky you may see an otter or kingfisher.

Edinburgh has thousands of different plants and animals. Did you know that you can find 11 types of bumblebees in Edinburgh? If you have a photograph of a plant or animal and would like to know what it is, you can upload it to ispot and others will help you to identify it.
